Horticulture
For my final semester attending Rehoboth Christian School, I signed up for a Horticulture class. In this class, I was introduced to different methods of gardening that I had no knowledge of. I was given a plot of land in the Rehoboth High Tunnel to plant and harvest spinach, however, I somehow planted lettuce. This was an exciting class at first, but as I continued attending, I discovered my impatient attitude. As time passed, I did see much germination in my plant and encountered animal thief difficulties. Then spring came and I was surprised with the amount of germination that occurred so fast. This class also challenged me to serve others with my knowledge and skill. I donated my entire harvest to the Rehoboth Dining Hall and planned a cold frame structure for my grandparents benefit. Through this class, I achieved the Science outcome that Rehoboth encourages its students to accomplish.
American Literature
For this assignment, I was originally suppose to design a 2D poster that depicted the route taken on the Mississippi River and described the many ways Huck Finn has matured throughout the novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. I decided to go over and above the requested assignment by creating a 3D poster with multiple Huck Finns stating his maturity improvement. Through this assignment, I achieved the Visual Arts and the Prejudice and Racism outcomes that Rehoboth encourages among all its students to achieve.
Outdoor Leadership
When I was in eighth grade attending Rehoboth Christian Middle School, I was introduced to the Rehoboth Ropes Course through my older sister. She taught me the basics of facilitating and how to set up the different activities on the course. When I became a freshman in high school, I became a trained facilitator for the Rehoboth Ropes Course. When I was a sophomore, I attended an Outdoor Leadership class in which, I improved my leadership skills through my facilitator experiences and I also became certified in First Aid/CPR. It was in this class, that I decided to pursue a career in medicine. This Outdoor Leadership course fulfilled the Gifts and Calling and the Leadership outcomes that Rehoboth strives to achieve in student's attendance at Rehoboth Christian School.
Worldviews
In this assignment, I wrote a four page paper describing my worldview. This assignment challenged me to consider the different worldviews presented to me during the semester. It was difficult to decide on a specific worldview to write about because I didn't want to commit to just any worldview. With the encouragement of my worldviews' teacher, I compared and contrasted the Christian worldview with other worldviews and described what they meant to me. This assignment fulfilled the Worldviews and Biblical Literacy outcomes that Rehoboth strives to achieve in student's attendance at Rehoboth Christian School.
